In our last Cover Spotlight before the calendar turns to 2017, let’s take a closer look at the cover design from the 2016 Aquila yearbook from Ferndale High School in Ferndale, Washington.
To reinforce the theme “Angles,” the 2016 Aquila cover (seen above) used layers of triangles and lines over the front and back of the cover. The layering of the various triangular shapes created new colors and added depth to the overall cover.
The school’s mascot was also blended into the mixture of colors and shapes. The letters of the theme word “Angles” were also infused into the artwork, as there are triangles and lines affecting the colors of the letters.
To give the cover a shimmer effect, the artwork of the cover is printed on a Luminaire White linen.
