For the rest of this year, Walsworth will be featuring an Employee Spotlight series on its websites as part of the company’s celebration of its 85th anniversary. Walsworth’s people are our most important resource and the Employee Spotlights will give you a chance to get to know them better.
Linda Frakes
Computer Support Department – Brookfield, Missouri
I and 5 others work in the Computer Support Department. We are a team. I have worked in Computer Support for 8 years and prior to that I worked in Desktop and Bindery.
Overall, I have worked at Walsworth for 25 years.
As a Computer Support Specialist, I work with advisers, reps, students, and anyone else involved in creating a yearbook on how to use InDesign Enhancements, Yearbook 360 and Online Design.
I was a young mom looking for a job that was accommodating to my children’s school time. I would work Bindery to pay for my daughters’ activities and enjoyed the flexibility to help with what my girls would do during their school careers. Not until I started here did my love for printing grow, especially learning and seeing all the printed products enter and leave the doors of Walsworth.
The thing I love most about my position is working and helping with a finished product, start to finish in Yearbook.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would say “Family, 2 legged and 4 legged”
I come to work every day to see my work friends that I have accumulated over the years. I do love what I do. My job is challenging to say the least but I do like to troubleshoot.
When I’m not at work, I love family time, fishing, crocheting, swimming, hanging out with friends and just chilling out. I love my family and Grands!
Between the two of us, Troy and I of us share 6 children, 11 grandchildren, a Duke and a Bobbi. Both of our moms are alive and we love our time with all of them.
Walsworth has helped me raise four children and send them off to college and empowers me to give to my charities of choice. Walsworth has contributed to my future by offering a retirement plan. With that, I feel confident enough when that time comes, I know I can retire and be comfortable.
I give back to my community by trying to give whatever is available to help. Whether it is money, labor, or food, I like to help with whatever is needed.
My favorite memories at Walsworth have been made with all the Walsworth friends I have here. Some have left or passed on and I am forever grateful for knowing them all.
