Even though there is plenty of work still to be done to wrap up this year’s yearbook, believe it or not now is the right time to start looking ahead to next year and begin recruiting next year’s staff.

We’ve got some outstanding resources here in the Blog and on walsworthyearbooks.com that will help get your recruiting efforts started:

  • In this Recruiting Primer, which was written and compiled by Idea File magazine Editor Elizabeth Braden, CJE, you will find tips and information for the entire recruiting process. Everything from interviewing potential staffers to selecting the applicants can be found here.
  • Christina Vettraino Chatel, the former yearbook adviser at Troy High School in Troy, Michigan, wrote this article on how to recruit a fantastic staff and keep them. She covers where in the school she would look for future yearbook staff members, and the types of questions she asked the applicants.
  • In the Marketing Your Book section here at walsworthyearbooks.com, you can visit our Recruit a Great Staff page. We have tons of downloadable resources available for you to get started recruiting, including “Most Wanted” posters, fliers, social media images and much more.
