The Spring 2018 issue of Idea File magazine will be arriving in schools this week and is now available over in our Idea File section. The theme of the latest edition is all about support and empowerment.
You will want to check out the features in this issue:
- Jessica Young, MJE, the adviser from Orange Glen High School in California, wrote about why it’s important that the yearbook staff be inclusive and reflective of the entire school population. And she shows how they’ve done that this year at Orange Glen, thanks to one very special staffer.
- Tiffany Cavicchia, NBCT, a 2017 JEA Rising Star award winner who advised at Mooresville High School in North Carolina, tackles the subject of how you can empower your students to become leaders. This article offers real, actionable steps you can take in the form of 11 tips.
- Be sure to check out “Advisers Advising Advisers.” Walsworth’s Sarah Scott took to social media and sought out the best yearbook advice she could find on everything from team building to photography to distribution.
- Rachel Rauch, MJE, adviser from Homestead High School in Wisconsin, wrote this issue’s “Picture This” column, which is all about basic photo composition and visual storytelling.
In addition, there are items on Yearbook AR, our Adviser Mentor Program, brand new additions to our 2017 Caught Our Eye gallery and Mike Taylor, CJE, is back with his newest “Ask Mike” column – this time with the seven stages you should follow as you start preparing your 2019 theme.
All of that and much more in the Spring 2018 issue of Idea File!
