Adviser Academy is quickly approaching, now just a little more than a month away.
The first year as a yearbook adviser can be tough and attending Walsworth’s Adviser Academy in Kansas City will prepare you for the challenge in many ways. You’ll receive training in “everything you didn’t know you didn’t know,” according to instructor Sabrina Schmitz, CJE.
You won’t regret going, as the practical skills you’ll take away include how to create a cover and spreads plus technical training in Online Design and InDesign. Schmitz’s presentations will cover a wide range of subjects, including grading strategies, staff organization, classroom procedures, interviewing, photography basics and marketing tactics.
You’ll learn about how to choose a theme, build your ladder and meet your deadlines.
The workshop offers three full days of sessions. You can even opt for an additional day of advanced tech training. Advisers who choose this option will spend Thursday morning delving into the wonders of Online Design, InDesign or Photoshop.
Registration is still open.
