Thirteen 2016 yearbooks printed by Walsworth Yearbooks were among the high school and middle school yearbooks announced as 2016 Pacemaker Finalists today by the National Scholastic Press Association.
The Walsworth yearbooks named as Pacemaker Finalists were:

- Hauberk, Shawnee Mission East High School, Prairie Village, Kansas
- Hoofbeats, Burges High School, El Paso, Texas
- Indian, Shawnee Mission North High School, Overland Park, Kansas
- Legend, Brookfield Central High School, Brookfield, Wisconsin
- Legend, Boone High School, Orlando, Florida
- Munhinotu, Gresham High School, Gresham, Oregon
- The Lair, Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, Kansas
- The Scrapbook, Westfield Middle School, Westfield, Indiana
- The Stampede, J.W. Mitchell High School, New Port Richey, Florida
- Wings, Arrowhead Christian Academy, Redlands, California
The 2016 Sword & Shield from Saugus High School in Saugus, California, also is a Pacemaker Finalist. Saugus is a new Walsworth customer for 2017.
According to NSPA, teams of professionals judge the yearbooks using several criteria, including coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership, design, photography and graphics. The contest is open to any NSPA member publication.
Pacemaker awards will be announced April 8 during the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Seattle.
